Week 28 / Block Party

August 8 – 14, 2011

This past Saturday night Stella Artois Legere threw a huge block party in a parking lot at the corner of King and Brant.  The party was a celebration for downtown Toronto with a local neighbourhood theme, including a chip wagon, ice cream truck, and even a TTC bus.  It was extra special for me because some of my photos were on display in a gallery area and projected on the side of a building…I thought that was pretty cool!  Needless to say it was a fun night and a great summer block party.

Local Toronto artist Dave Murray designed both this bottle and all the Legere neighbourhood maps.

T shirts were awarded to people clever enough to answer local Toronto trivia…this seemed to be pretty much everyone.

Free beer and poutine makes these two very happy!

Tom Wrecks was spinning from on top of an old fire truck.

Checking out the goods!  These were some of my photos displayed at the party, unfortunately I knew the people in this picture and I made them stand and look longer so I could take a photo…as in this photo is borderline staged…oh well, thanks Danko!

No block party is complete without an ice cream truck on site.

The chip wagon was a hot spot by the end of the night.

This is Heather and Nicole.  Not only are they the brains behind the operation, they are my awesome clients and the reason I get to shoot events like this!
